Winners of The Laminex Group’s inaugural Formica Formations Design Competition have been announced.

First place in the professional category was awarded to Graham Roebeck from Queenstown architectural firm Structural Integrity with his Beehive design, while the winner of the emerging designer section was Unitec student, Norman Lin with The Lax Chair.

Our top judging panel, made up of Renee Hytry, Ron Sang and David Trubridge, selected the winners based on the way they challenged the norms of Formica materials and demonstrated creative, innovative thinking.

The judges also acknowledged four other designs with Highly Commended mentions on the evening. They included designs from Stephen Smith and Hamish Stirrat in the Professionals Category and Nick Wong and Gemma O'Dwyer for the Emerging Talent Category.

You can view the fabricated winning designs at The Laminex Group’s Auckland office, Monday to Friday from 1.30 to 4.30pm until November 18th.

* Please note that the colours and materials used in the pictured designs are from Formica USA and may not be available in NZ.
